Born Aaron Jerome, with ancestral roots spanning East Africa, India, and England, he emerged from rural England to make waves in London's music scene. His self-titled debut album in 2011 catapulted him to global acclaim, followed by notable releases and collaborations. Now, shedding his iconic mask, SBTRKT embarks on a new chapter, exploring societal shifts and personal growth. 'The Rat Road' is a sonic journey reflecting on these changes, blending genres and emotions with SBTRKT's signature style. With a focus on authenticity over commercialism, SBTRKT embraces new talents and perspectives, crafting a deeply introspective and boundary-pushing album. A teaser came when Drake featured the track "FORWARD" in an album announcement, showcasing SBTRKT's emotive sound. For him, music is a raw expression of the moment, free from constraints.
