Davai Dumplings wins our Sustainable Food Award 2026
Every year, Paradise City recognises the food partner that goes furthest in reducing the environmental impact of their menu. With over 19 partners across our food courts, the competition is genuine - which makes this year's winner all the more deserving of the recognition.
The 2026 Sustainable Food Award goes to Davai Dumplings.
Davai serves plant-based dumplings and kroketten that are as carefully considered as they are delicious. Their average CO₂ footprint per dish sits at just 0.35 kg - well below the festival average - and that number is the result of a series of deliberate choices that run through every part of how they operate.
All dumpling fillings are made from rescued vegetables: produce that would otherwise go to waste due to overproduction. Mokja, a local partner based in Ghent, makes their kimchi by hand. The oat milk used in their kroketten comes from Tiptoh, a Belgian brand. And their spring onions? Homegrown.
None of these are small decisions. Together, they add up to a way of working that puts sustainability at the centre of the menu rather than treating it as an afterthought.
About the Sustainable Food Award
The Paradise City Sustainable Food Award is given annually to the food partner that demonstrates the most meaningful commitment to reducing the environmental impact of their offering. The award considers factors including carbon footprint, sourcing, waste reduction and use of local and seasonal ingredients. Paradise City has maintained a 100% plant-based food court since 2025 and has received the Greener Catering Award from A Greener Future in both 2023 and 2025.
Congratulations to the full Davai team. This is exactly the kind of thinking we want to celebrate.
