Mo Yasin is a Sudanese-American DJ, speaker designer and event producer whose work is deeply rooted in sound system culture. Originally from Virginia and now based in New York, he developed his musical sensibility through years spent working in record shops, building a wide-ranging knowledge of music and a strong DIY ethos. Inspired by the sound system traditions of New York, the UK and Jamaica, Mo Yasin approaches DJing with both technical precision and deep musical curiosity. His practice extends beyond selecting records: through his own custom-built sound system, he continuously experiments with how sound moves through a room, refining the physical and emotional experience of the dancefloor. A resident DJ at Public Records in Brooklyn, he has performed across a wide spectrum of spaces, from underground DIY venues to clubs, fashion events and art gatherings in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Detroit, London, Mexico City and Hong Kong.
