Takuya Nakamura is a Tokyo-born musician, producer, and DJ, now based in New York City. Rooted in jazz but driven by experimentation, his sound blends improvisation with electronic rhythm, moving between broken beats, abstract club music, and future-facing jazz forms. After relocating to the US in the early ’90s, he became deeply embedded in New York’s underground dance scene, where live performance and club culture constantly intersect. His music is fluid and genre-defying, shaped by theory, intuition, and rhythmic freedom. Whether performing live or DJing, Nakamura creates dynamic, exploratory journeys that bridge jazz tradition and contemporary electronic sound.
